Current Reading List

Here is a list of what I am reading:

  1. Wild Stories, The Best of Men's Journal,  This is very good reading....stories would certainly cater to men - I am going to look up this magazine if this is typical of the writing. If you like travel stories you will really enjoy this collection of short stories.  P.J. O'Rourke's story on  traveling the Grand Turk road across India in a Land Rover is a good example.  An extract; "The road is a store, a warehouse, and a workshop.  ... a blacksmith had pitched his tent on a bridge.  Under the tent flaps were several small children, the missus working the bellows, and the craftsman himself smoking a hookah and contemplating his anvil, which was placed fully in the right of way."

  2. For Christmas, I bought The Magic Journey storybook which is the story The Polar Express movie is based on.  Note this is not the original story written by Chris Van Allsburg.  Great book with very nice artwork that captured my Grandchildren's attention last nit as I read to them.  Can you hear the bell ring?

Here is my wish list - just waiting.....

  1. Who Says Elephants Can't Dance? Inside IBM's Historic Turnaround
    by Louis V. Gerstner Jr.

  2. The Accidental Zillionaire : Demystifying Paul Allen
    by Laura Rich

  3. Code Name Ginger: The Story Behind Segway and Dean Kamen's Quest to Invent a New World  I just heard Dean give a speech at a StorageTek Customers forum and he was great - he stood on the Segway for the entire sixty minute speech - occasionally you could see it move slightly to keep balance. He also is running a group (FIRST) that is encouraging teens to get into engineering.
